In Georgia, IMBA helped build 10 miles of new singletrack to lengthen the Bartram Trail. This route will eventually traverse the entire state.
In South Carolina, mountain bikers constructed 18 miles of trail at Paris Mountain State Park, tripling the amount of open singletrack.
The New Orleans Metro Area Mountain Bicycling Organization completed the metro area's first legal singletrack loop at Bonnet Carre Spillway. The trail is located on Army Corps of Engineers land.
The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club spearheaded a successful effort to alter a forest demonstration plan at Bent Creek Forest near Asheville, North Carolina, that would have closed more than five miles of shared-use trails.
In Virginia, the Shenandoah Bicycle Club is working with the U.S. Forest Service, Sierra Club, and roadless area supporters to develop plans that align recreationalists and environmentalists to achieve higher levels of forest protection.
In North Carolina, 20 IMBA-affiliated trailbuilders gathered at Dupont State Forest to strategize about new mechanized and technical trailbuilding techniques. For more info visit imba.com.
