The Whatcom Independent Mountain Pedalers from Bellingham, Washington, started an ambitious trail sign project at local riding area Galbraith Mountain. The mountain has more than 40 twisty trails that can discombobulate even seasoned locals. To preserve the area's backcountry feel, signs are only being posted at strategic points.
The Boise Bike Swap is scheduled for Saturday, March 13 at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds in Boise, Idaho. Proceeds from the event will benefit local trail projects and a dirt jumping park. Contact Chris Cook at 208-794-7255, or visit www.swimba.org for more information.

IMBA gave a presentation about mountain biking economic development at the Joint Ventures Partners in Stewardship Conference held in Los Angeles in November. The presentation, entitled, "Economic Success Stories and Mountain Bicycling Tourism," highlighted places around the world where mountain biking has significantly bolstered the local economy.
