Corporate member Giant Bicycles recently hosted an IMBA board of directors meeting at their headquarters in Newbury Park, CA. The two-day event included the board meeting and a reception for local donors and advocates. More than 60 guests attended the party to socialize, network and hear remarks from Giant President Skip Hess and IMBA executive director Tim Blumenthal. Many thanks to Giant Bicycles for their hospitality!

The seventh annual Kona/IMBA Bowling Tournament was held Oct. 13 at Interbike in Las Vegas. The tourney, which has become an after-hours tradition at the world's leading bicycle trade show, attracted more than 300 bowlers to the Orleans Casino, raising $8,500 for IMBA and the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). IMBA's share of the money will fund the new Kona/IMBA Freeriding Grants to fund the development of freeriding, downhilling, and dirt jumping projects. NEMBA's proceeds were used to finalize the purchase of land at the headwaters of the Upper Charles River (a.k.a. Vietnam), a favorite riding location for mountain bikers throughout New England. Many thanks to Above-and-Beyond corporate supporter Kona for sponsoring the event.

Thanks to all companies, athletes and artists who donated products and art pieces for the IMBA 15-Year Anniversary Auction.
