Army Corps of Engineers Shoreline Gems

MADRONE TRAIL
CANYON LAKE
HANCOCK, TEXAS
LENGTH: 7 MILES

Canyon Lake offers seven miles of singletrack with spectacular lakeside views. Rocks, boulders, baby-heads, slabs and ledges make for fast, fun and technical riding. The trail is mostly shaded - always a plus in the Texas heat. IMBA affiliates Camino Real Cycling Club and Bikemojo.com helped the Corps build and maintain the trails. More info: www.bikemojo.com.

GOOD WATER TRAIL
LAKE GEORGETOWN
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
LENGTH: 10 MILES

Rocky technical singletrack, flowing turns, switchbacks, and swooping grade reversals make the Good Water Trail at Lake Georgetown a fat tire dream. IMBA affiliate Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club and the Corps' Fort Worth District built this beautiful lakeside trail that provides options for all ability levels. DARK MOUNTAIN TRAILS
KERR SCOTT LAKE
WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA
LENGTH: 3 MILES

Kerr Scott Lake is positioning itself to become a destination mountain biking area. The Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club and the Corps teamed to build the first three of a proposed 30 miles of singletrack. Volunteers are now finishing the next three miles of trail. The beautiful Yadkin River Valley offers a great backdrop for this stacked loop system of beginner, intermediate and advanced trails.

BLANKETS CREEK TRAIL
LAKE ALLATOONA
WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA
LENGTH: 12 MILES

This wooded trail system is rapidly becoming a mountain bike destination. IMBA affiliate Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association has helped the Corps develop a trail system at Blankets Creek. The network of trails offers something for everyone from beginner loops featuring smooth singletrack to advanced level log and rock drops, rock gardens and bridges. Info : www.sorbawoodstock.org.
