Bike advocacy leaders from across the nation convened August 2-5 at Thunderhead Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming, for the annual Thunderhead Alliance Retreat. A coalition of state and local bicycle advocacy organizations, the Thunderhead Alliance brings leaders together to share ideas and improve effectiveness. IMBA's Avery Stonich attended the retreat to explore ways for road and off-road bicycling groups to collaborate.

The fifteenth annual VeloSwap is slated for Oct. 25 at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. This cycling extravaganza features 100,000 square feet of bikes, parts, demos, and more. New this year is an exciting Shimano Dirt Demo Arena where you can test ride the latest and greatest. VeloSwap ticket proceeds benefit Colorado-based cycling organizations, including IMBA. IMBA board member and former president Ashley Korenblat is a 2003 inductee into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, located in Crested Butte, Colorado. Ashley has been an IMBA board member since 1990 and served as the organization's president from 1996-2000. Ashley also owns Western Spirit Cycling, specializing in taking people on multi-day mountain bike adventures around the world. Other 2003 inductees are Gary Crandall, Cindy Devine and Dan Koeppel.
