New York mountain bikers are asked to voice opposition to a proposed management plan for Catskill Park. The proposal would declare significant areas in the park off limits to bikes and restrict bicycling to designated trails only. The Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE) will receive an RTP grant to construct an 8-mile trail between two popular Maryland parks, Schaeffer Farms and Black Hills. When completed, the trail will allow cyclists to access about 35 miles of trail and four parks without having to ride pavement. IMBA's Trail Solutions team will design and build the trail with assistance from MORE volunteers.

The Nittany Mountain Bike Association has built the first trail designed for mountain bicycling in the Rothrock State Forest in State College, PA. The new contour trail links to other singletrack in the area. More info: www.nittanymba.org

New Jersey's Save Mercer And Ride the Trails recently completed marking trails in Mercer County Park. The club uses a four-color signing system and provides info about riding at trailhead kiosks.
