The Minnesota Off Road Cyclists (MORC) received approval from the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, the National Wildlife Federation, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to redesign and reroute the popular Minnesota River Trail. Work begins this fall. MORC is also helping construct a six-mile intermediate level, shared-use trail at Harmon Park in Inver Grove Heights. Visit www.morcmtb.org for more info.
Earth Riders Mountain Bike Club members Gary Baack and Nate King recently received the Natural Resources Trails Service Award from the Parks and Recreation Department of Jackson County, Kansas, for their extraordinary volunteer trailwork at the Blue River Parkway. Three Texas mountain bike clubs are assisting two Army Corp of Engineer projects. The Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club is helping connect numerous parks around Lake Georgetown and ultimately create a 25-mile loop along the shoreline.
