IMBA Launches Revamped Patrol Training Program

IMBA Trail News
Volume 15, Number 5
Winter 2002

IMBA is proud to announce the designation of 12 National Mountain Bike Patrol regional representatives and the creation of a new NMBP training program. Similar to IMBA state reps, NMBP regional reps will serve the patrol community in their designated regions by encouraging patrol growth and effectiveness. The reps will also organize NMBP instructor training conferences in their area. In the past, NMBP instructor training was held once a year and limited the capacity to certify instructors. The new format will allow IMBA to reach more patrollers and to train them more effectively. The idea for the new training program was generated at this year's IMBA Summit in Moab, Utah, where patrol leaders from around the country gathered to identify ways to more effectively train and certify patrollers.
