Mountain bikers in Helena, MT, can save a 400-acre Wakina Sky Gulch Area parcel from development by contributing to the Prickley Pear Land Trust. If the trust raises enough money to buy the land from its current owners, the tract will become public land and singletrack trail access will continue. Donations can be sent to: PPLT, PO Box 892, Helena, MT 59624. Please label donations "land protection fund".
A freeride race series is scheduled for this fall outside of Las Vegas. Each race features a different 12 - 15 mile course with approximately 70% downhill riding. Contact Blue Diamond Outpost for details, www.bikeoutpost.com.

Be a part of New Belgium Brewery's Tour de Fat as it rolls through Missoula, MT, Boulder, CO, Durango, CO and Flagstaff, AZ this fall. All proceeds from the "ballyhoo of bicycles and beer" event go to local bicycle advocacy groups. Last year's event in Missoula generated $2,400 which aided the construction of new singletrack on Mount Jumbo by more than 65 volunteers.
