IMBA Trail News
Volume 15, Number 1
Spring 2002

  • Above-and-Beyond supporters Bike Magazine, Patagonia and Santa Cruz Bicycles will sponsor the 2002 IMBA Epics program. Now in its forth year, the Epics program designates great adventure rides and celebrates them with a series of trailwork/riding events.

  • IMBA and Headland Bike Accessories are working to keep singletrack narrow. IMBA encourages mountain bikers to ride through puddles - not around them - to prevent trails from widening. Headland is donating a portion of sales of their innovative QuickSlide and BackSlide fenders to IMBA. Fenders are available direct from the Headland Online Store at www.headlandbike.com.

  • Thanks to the generous support of Above-and-Beyond sponsors SRAM Corporation, Giant Bicycles and Ben & Jerry's Homemade, the IMBA Sprockids youth mountain biking program will introduce more kids to mountain biking in 2002. IMBA Sprockids clubs offer young people a fun way to get involved in cycling while helping them to build self-esteem.

  • Welcome to IMBA's newest Corporate Members: Gregory Mountain Products, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Minnesota Cyclist, Rock (n) Roll Lubrication, Singletrack Ranch, 30-A.com, Texasbiketrails.com, DT Swiss, Gravy Wheels, Yu-Druk Tours & Treks, Whitewater & Wildlands Tours and Expedition International.
