The Central Illinois Mountain Bicycling Association (CIMBA) is working with the Army Corps of Engineers on a master trail plan that will provide more than 100 miles of paths and encircle Lake Shelbyville. With help from the IMBA/RockShox Tool Grant Program, CIMBA is finishing an eight-mile stacked loop near Sullivan that feeds into the lake trail system. Info: .
The Greater Houston Off-Road Biking Association (GHORBA) is working in partnership with Houston Parks and Recreation Department on an application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for a National Recreational Trails Fund Grant. More info: Christina Case: .
A recent meeting of South Dakota's Black Hills Mountain Bike Association (BHMBA), IMBA's Trail Care Crew, local land managers, numerous members of the press and local hiking groups laid the groundwork for trails along Rapid City's skyline drive - the area's crown jewel. Ohio's "D" on IMBA's last access report card inspired Buckeye riders to organize and mobilize to improve their state's grade. Five new IMBA clubs have formed: Cincinnati Off Road Alliance, Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association, Mohican/Malabar Bike Club, Wittenberg Cycling Club and Ohio Valley Mountain Biking Club. Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews will be in Ohio this October.
