IMBA Busy at Interbike IMBA was busy and successful at the high profile Interbike Expo in Las Vegas this September. Six staffers plus the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew No. 2 represented IMBA at the show and particpated in several events. Highlights:

• Specialized Bicycle Components founder Mike Sinyard presented IMBA with a check for more than $6,000 as part of their IMBA Trailbuilding School waterbottle promotion.

• IMBA's hand-built race car won the SRAM Pinewood Derby for Advocacy and the $1,000 winner's prize, which was matched by Interbike.

• Long-time IMBA board member Linda DuPriest was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Linda was introduced by Hall of Famer and IMBA board member Jim Hasenauer.

• The KONA/IMBA Bowling Tournament, in its third year, attracted a record 56 teams and raised more than $5,000 for IMBA.

• The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew helped design the practice loop for the On-Dirt Demo in nearby Blue Diamond, Nevada, which attracted some 2,000 test riders.

• Bicycle Retailer & Industry News hosted the first annual Interbike Advocacy Recognition Dinner and gave "BR&Iny" awards to Congressman Jim Oberstar, IMBA board member (and League of American Bicyclist President) Chris Kegel, Patrick Seidler of WTB, and Quality Bicycle Products.

This annual industry gathering is always an important opportunity for IMBA to say thanks to the companies that support our work, to pursue new opportunities for corporate support, and to interact with the more than 25,000 attendees.

Voler Team Apparel Increases IMBA Support
