NorCal riders: Get out your calendar and make plans to attend a trailwork event this fall. You've got lots of opportunities.

The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will visit Tahoe Oct.12-16 for one of their acclaimed Trailbuilding Schools and work with the Tahoe Area Mountain Bicycling Assn. Call 775-588-0686 for info. The Portland United Mountain Pedalers (www.pumpclub.org) are still fighting to keep 4,000-acre Forest Park open to bikes. Rodney O'Dell and others are working with the Friends of Forest Park to ensure that mountain biker interests are considered in the management of this popular city park, which is one of the largest in the U.S.
