Mexico

Mexico's UCI-sanctioned, National MTB Series made a stop in San Nicolas Totolapan over the weekend of June 24 - 25. The races - held on courses developed under the guidance of IMBA TCC #2 during their spring visit (ITN Early Summer 2000) - attracted a large field and lots of spectators.

Brazil

The executive director of Tijuca National Park in Rio de Janeiro, visited IMBA headquarters in May. The park is looking to IMBA for help in solving current trail issues and organizing local mountain bikers. Look for further development of this project in coming months. Also in Brazil, trail advocate Bobby Noguiera is working hard to promote the sport. Partnering with RockShox, Scott and Bike Magazine, he has developed Freeridelandia outside of Sao Paulo. Plans for future expansion of this area, as well as the development of new, similar parks are underway.

United Kingdom

Mountain Bike Rider magazine published a feature article on the IMBA TCC program in its July issue. MBR magazine is a major supporter of mountain biking in the UK, sponsoring trailbuilding projects country-wide. With luck, the trend will spread to this side of the Atlantic!

Germany

IMBA recently presented a grant to German trail advocates for the construction of a reroute near Munich. The trail will provide a designated, sustainable corridor through an environmentally sensitive area.
