The Kentucky Mountain Bike Association has reached an agreement with the Olmstead Parks Conservancy and Metro Parks Department to adopt a trail north of Beargrass Creek in Louisville's Cherokee Park.
In North Carolina, trail construction is underway in a new mountain bike park at Alexander Park in Asheville. Funds for construction were provided by the National Recreational Trails program.
Tennessee's Mousetail Landing and Montgomery Bell State Parks have approved 32 miles of new singletrack. Email western Tennessee IMBA rep Sam Poyner to help with construction: .
Hickory Knob State Park in McCormick, SC, is the site of new trails designed and constructed by Tony Boone of Arrowhead Trails, Colorado, with the assistance of a professional crew. This is another project funded by the National Recreational Trail Program.
In Arkansas, the Ozark Off Road Cyclists have built trails at Devils Den and are working with the Twin Lakes Bicycle Club on Army Corps of Engineers land near Mountain Home.
Gainesville College in Georgia has hired TCC pioneer Mike Riter as a "mountain bike trails education specialist." Mike will travel Georgia assisting youth groups, land management agencies and other trail user groups. Partners in this project include the Elachee Nature Center, SORBA and IMBA.
