Ten years of reliable volunteer work and relationship-building with local land managers has earned New Mexico's Trail Partners Club tentative approval from the Sandia Ranger District to perform unsupervised trail maintenance. The first such workday occured on May 7 in the Manzano Mountains, south of Albuquerque. Contact IMBA NM State Rep Charlie Ervin ( ) for more info.

IMBA's Utah state rep Jon Gallagher has been working closely with Park City Resort to open a lift serviceable trail at the resort. The proposed trail will act as a connector to the Mid-Mountain trail, a soon-to-be constructed trail that will link Deer Valley Ski Resort, Park City Ski Resort, and The Canyons Ski Resort. Park City Resort is eager to begin construction once the snow melts and the ground drys.

The awesome Pollock Bench trail in Fruita, CO, is in danger of being closed to mountain bikers. The trail, which is located near Interstate 70, is a popular, convenient ride and has long been considered for Wilderness designation. Over The Edge bike shop and the Grand Valley Mountain Bike Patrol perform Pollock Bench trail maintenance. This year, as new Colorado Wilderness bills are presented in Congress, local advocates have formed an advisory board (MECCA) to push for Pollock Bench's exclusion.
