Philadelphia has a new IMBA-affiliated group. The Philadelphia Mountain Bike Association hopes to foster good relations and hold trail maintenance days in the Wissahickon section of Fairmount Park and Pennypack Park - two prime riding destinations where trail access has been controversial. The Jersey Off Road Bicycle Association (www.jorba.org) is expanding statewide by forming county-based chapters. There are already 21 and JORBA's membership is growing fast. To start a JORBA chapter, contact Sarah Frost at .

In southern NJ, the Shore Cycle Club is working with officials of the Atlantic County Park to develop five miles of singletrack in an undeveloped, 700-acre section of the park. To help build the new trail, call 609-383-0634.

The Rattling Creek Singletrackers are constructing a 20-mile West Branch Loop (90% singletrack!) in a central PA state forest and the Lykens Watershed property.

Cape Cod NEMBA has received a grant to restore wetlands in conjunction with the Bourne Conservation Commission (see page 4).

In New Hampshire, the Friends of the Massabesic Mountain Bike Association have built about 10 miles of twisty trail over the last couple of years.

On the patrol front, Rhode Island NEMBA has formed a patrol at RI's premier riding destination, the Arcadia Management Area.

In New York, the Gunks Mountain Bike Association's patrol has grown to 60 members.
