The Land and Water Conservation Fund moved closer to full funding this year, boosted by efforts such as this ad produced by Americans for Our Heritage and Recreation and the Outdoor Recreation Coalition of America. In mid-July the House of Representatives appropriated $30 million to the beleagured "stateside" grants program, which got zero dollars in recent years. Five proposals for more than $1 billion/year for LWCF have been introduced in the Congress.
