November 1998
The IMBA Pacific 1998 Regional Conference was a high quality event, with excellent information, fun riding, and good food. Kudos go to the Singletrack Mind Cycling Club of Tacoma for a fine organizing job. In addition to the exciting work on the Tahuya State Forest, participants enjoyed an excelllent slide show by guidebook author John Zilly, an exchange of ideas about trail design and advocacy, a salmon barbeque, Fat Tire Ale from New Belgium Brewery, and dancing to live rock'n'roll.
Thanks go also to Subaru of America, the Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club, the Washington DNR, and Girl Scouts of America.
Finally, congratulations go to Kevin Axt of Kennewick, Washington, who rode 250 miles to the conference.
