The Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship (OEF) was awarded a $16,000 grant from the Oklahoma Recreational Trails Fund (ORTF) for equipment and materials to be used in building and maintaining the new Lake Stanley Draper Mountain Bike Park in the Oklahoma City metro area.
OEF also assisted the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust in their successful application for $17,000 to build a parking lot and trailhead facilities for the mountain bike park.
These grant monies were made available through the National Recreational Trails Fund. The program requires a 50% match which OEF will fulfill through in-kind, volunteer labor. To date, over 700 man-hours have been put into planning and building Phase I of the 180-acre park.
