Over the past decade, the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews have taught hundreds of grassroots volunteer groups, big and small, to build better trails. The crew has conducted countless trailbuilding schools throughout the country to help spread the IMBA gospel. What began as a small field program to educate trail users is now a flagship program that offers a wide variety of services.
Is your club's membership stagnating? Do you need help planning and building a new trail? Are your best advocates feeling burned out? Can your club's partnership with land management be improved? Do you want your club to be capable of more? Does your area need more riding opportunities?
Most local riding communities can benefit from the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew's expertise. The crew offers many valuable services, including:
- External assessment of area trails and potential expansion of opportunities
- Expert training on sustainable trail design, construction and maintenance
- Club building assistance
- Partnership development assistance
- NMBP training
The Oct. 31 deadline to submit requests for 2009 Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew visits is fast approaching. Make sure that your club or local trails community has the opportunity to partner with the Trail Care Crew to jumpstart your area's trail users. Check out some of the projects that the crews have worked on recently. If you like what you see, apply for a 2009 visit online.
The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew Program has been on the road for over 10 years and is possible thanks to Subaru of America's generous support. IMBA events are generally free and open to the public.
