Prizes Announced for 2006 Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) will offer five levels of prizes for its Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day event on Oct. 7, 2006. Anyone can participate, but only registered events are eligible for the prizes. Sign up soon - the big day is just around the corner.
New for this year's celebration, all clubs and individuals who register before Sept. 22 will receive a "Snacks on Us" shipment of ZBaRs, a healthy, kid-friendly energy bar made by our friends at CLIF Bar.
Schwinn will once again offer kids bikes to two lucky groups. The first place group will receive three youth-sized mountain bikes from Schwinn, while the second place group will receive two bikes. Third, fourth and fifth place groups will receive $100, $50 and $25 gift certificates, redeemable for clothing and equipment at IMBA's online store. Each of the five winners will also receive a special prize pack courtesy of CLIF ZBaR "Snacks on Us".
Organizing an event is easy. Any group size is okay, and the rides can be as extensive or as low-key as event planners like. Just find some kids, get permission from their parents, take 'em on a fun ride, and bring 'em back when you're done!
National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day celebrates the life of Jack Doub, an avid teenage mountain biker from North Carolina who passed away in 2002. The Jack Doub Memorial Endowment provides funding for a nationwide celebration that occurs each year on the first Saturday in October.
Assistance for the celebration is being provided by Trips for Kids, helping disadvantaged kids discover mountain biking since 1988.
