In February, Niner Bikes announced plans to give back to the industry and other charities. As the first recipient of the program, IMBA will receive the proceeds from the sale of 25 special IMBA-themed frames and forks sold to the general public. To find a suitable design, Niner solicited entries for a paint scheme that would highlight IMBA's efforts. "We're excited to see the outcome of our paint job contest," says Niner co-founder Steve Domahidy.

Vermont's Chris Weber used topographic maps of trail systems that IMBA has contributed to as panels on the frame. Webber's reward for winning the contest will be one of the limited edition M.C.R. 9 frames. The frames are being painted by Spectrum Powder Works, known for their amazing work.

The winning design will be unveiled at IMBA's booth (#235) during the Sea Otter Classic on Friday, April 18, at 4 pm. "We have been excited to see the frame since the start of this collaboration. It will be fantastic to have it hanging in the booth," says Matt O'Connor, IMBA's development coordinator. "Sea Otter is a huge opportunity for IMBA to touch base with our California-based members and supporters, and it serves as a great launching pad for Niner, a California-based company, to reveal this special project," adds O'Connor.

Frame and fork sales of the limited edition frames will be available to the general public in May. "These frames are our way of doing what we can for an organization that works tirelessly for the rights of mountain bikers and their trails around the world. Some of my favorite trails are ones that are only ride-able because of IMBA's efforts," says Niner co-founder Chris Sugai.
