You are invited to join IMBA and the Bicyclists of Nevada County for an IMBA Epic Celebration on the South Yuba trail in Nevada City, California, May 10-12.

Epic celebrations are a weekend-long opportunity to bring mountain bikers together to celebrate our sport and great riding. The first day we focus on trailwork, the second on riding and enjoying the fruits of our labor. Participants camp near the trailhead, share meals, riding stories and ideas.

Epic Celebrations are free to IMBA members and are limited to the first 100 pre-registered riders. Please visit http://www.imba.com/epics and complete the online registration form. Participants are asked to attend both the day-one trailwork and the day-two Epic ride.

The South Yuba IMBA Epic Celebration will be held at Malakoff/Diggins Historic State Park, about 20 miles north of Nevada City on the far west side of the Sierra Nevada range. The celebration will begin on Friday evening with a group campfire and meeting at 8pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive between 4 and 6pm on May 10th to check-in with IMBA staff and settle into their campsite.

South Yuba IMBA Epic Celebration Schedule:

Friday, May 10
4-6pm - Participants arrive, check-in, set up camp
6-8pm - Dinner on your own, bring cooking gear and food
8-10pm - Campfire and group meeting

Saturday, May 11
Breakfast on your own
9am-1pm - Trailwork on the South Yuba trail
3-5pm - Optional group ride
6:30pm - Group Dinner, beer provided by IMBA
8-10pm - Campfire, party and ride briefing

Sunday, May 12
8am - Epic Group Ride

Ride Details: The South Yuba is a 34-mile ride with a 17-mile stretch of singletrack along the South Yuba River. Although you'll be hard pressed to find a rock or root on this trail, don't be fooled into thinking this is an easy jaunt. The tight singletrack and numerous short, steep climbs will test your riding abilities.

Epic Ride Length: 34 miles

Elevation Range: 1500-3700 feet

Elevation Gain: 4060 ft.

Terrain: Smooth, tight singletrack with many short, steep hills.

Location: The South Yuba Epic is located approximately 25 miles north of Nevada City, California off Highway 49.
