The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) seeks a motivated and creative membership manager to grow IMBA’s membership base. The position will coordinate all member retention/acquisition efforts, membership benefits and additional giving campaigns. Tactics and tools include a variety of creative direct marketing (mail and email) and online communications. The membership manager works closely as part of a team with a database/integrated marketing specialist, webmaster and member services coordinator. The membership manager reports to IMBA’s development director. The position also supports development projects and strategic initiatives, including outreach to specific member segments, developing surveys and devising online giving campaigns.
Job Duties:
Coordinate all membership renewal and acquisition efforts, with a goal of increasing membership retention and overall membership numbers
Develop and monitor the membership department budget
Write and edit creative material for acquisition campaigns
Maintain online donation opportunities and innovative member acquisition campaigns
Maintenance of constituent and member data
Record and analyze the effectiveness of membership and fundraising campaigns
Develop and maintain membership benefits and benefit partner relations
Support customer-member service goals, supervise membership services coordinator
Develop creative strategies for new member development and member retention
Integrate membership goals with other IMBA programs/activities
Identify and implement process/technology improvements
Execute special projects
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, preferably in business or marketing areas, and/or two years experience in related field such as membership management, circulation or association marketing
Understanding of membership and fundraising fundamentals
Superb copywriting and editing skills
Customer-centric outlook
Hyper-organized with attention to detail and strong time management skills
Energetic, creative, positive personality with ability to work as a team-player and autonomously
Fluent in Microsoft Office, Macintosh Platform, databases
Demonstrated ability to embrace technology and improve systems/processes
Ideal candidate is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for mountain biking
