IMBA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating, enhancing, and preserving mountain bike opportunities worldwide. IMBA has 32,000 individual members and 500 affiliated clubs representing all 50 states and a dozen foreign countries. IMBA's biannual Summit brings together hundreds of leaders in trail advocacy, bike industry, mountain bike tourism, and trailbuilding for a long weekend of networking, education, mountain biking and fun.
Hosting the IMBA Summit in your locale will promote your area as a mountain bike tourism destination.
The ideal location:- is within two hours of a major airport
- has mountain bike trail access within a short distance of conference facilities and lodging
- features a variety of lodging options such as hotels, condos, camping, and dorms
- has conference facilities for plenary and concurrent sessions
- has an "outdoor classroom" to teach trailbuilding techniques (i.e. local trails with the potential for trailwork in partnership with local land management agency)
The dates are flexible and will be set to maximize good weather in the locale selected. IMBA plans on 200-250 attendees.
