New Hiking / Biking Trails Under Construction

A five-mile trail system is now under construction surrounding Sun Valley's new nine hole golf course. The trails are scheduled to open next spring.

The project is a joint effort by Sun Valley Resort, Big Wood Backcountry Trails and the International Mountain Bicycling Association.

The multi-use, all level trail system will be open to the public for hiking and mountain biking. A five-member crew working a mini-dozer and mini-excavator will be seen cutting the natural surface trails for the next six weeks. Three to five bridges will be featured in the sustainable trail design.

Three access points will be located across from the Sun Valley Lodge, behind the existing golf course clubhouse parking lot and across from the new golf course clubhouse site.

Once open, the trail system will be maintained by the Sun Valley Resort.
