Good News: Cambridge, Ontario Limits Legal Liability

Tuesday, June 21, 2005 - City of Cambridge

"Council supported a resolution from the City of Cambridge asking the province to amend the Occupiers Liability Act so that those who use trail systems are deemed to do so at their own risk. Council felt that since trail systems in the area substantially contribute to fitness and recreation, trail owners and volunteer organizations that maintain them should be protected from potential litigation and inflated insurance costs."

The Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) will explore this avenue with other municipalities across Ontario.

Stay tuned to the OCA website http://www.ontariocycling.org/ to find out more on how you can support this resolution in your area.
