IMBA Leaders Visit Australia - Part 1: Sydney to Cairns

Pete Webber & Joey Klein
February 2002

Trail design and advocacy experts from the International Mountain Bicycling Association visited Australia in February to share knowledge and experience on mountain bike management, trailbuilding, conflict resolution and volunteer group mobilization.

Working in partnership with Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA), IMBA membership and communications director Pete Webber and trails specialist Joey Klein traveled throughout the country February 11-26, 2002.

The IMBA team visited seven cities during their two week coast-to-coast tour. At each location, the team met with local mountain bikers, connected with area land managers, lead discussions on trail access issues, presented slideshows displaying IMBA's work around the world, and shared advice on advanced trailbuilding and maintenance techniques.
