New Bill Will Provide Better Health Care for Mountain Biking and Other Recreation

Your immediate action is needed to ensure proper health care benefits for trail enthusiasts everywhere. The HIPAA Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act (H.R. 1076, S 616) would extend health care coverage to people injured while engaged in legal recreational activities. This bill will supplement an existing law that did not include sports like mountain biking.

Mountain bikers need to ask Congress to support the new HIPAA Act. Identical legislation passed the full Senate in 2004 and obtained 177 bipartisan cosponsors in the House. Congress needs to hear from you to ensure this bill becomes law in 2007.
