IMBA Affiliated Club Programs and Benefits
IMBA Assistance Grants
Thanks to the generous on-going support of our corporate supporters, IMBA will award several cash grants this year. Past grant recipients have used their awards to purchase trailwork tools, buy trailhead signs, design and print educational brochures, equip volunteer bicycle patrols, and many other projects. Contact IMBA for details.
IMBA Club Insurance
IMBA-affiliated clubs in the U.S. and Canada are eligible to purchase a special mountain biking club insurance policy from McKay Insurance of Iowa. The policy insures your club for liability arising from events like club rides, kids rides, meetings, trail maintenance, bike patrols, and other club activities. A standard policy costs USD $1.55 per club member, with a $200 minimum. The current policy starts on October 15, 2005, and extends to October 15, 2006. Visit McKay Insurance for details and an online application. Learn more by reading these Frequently Asked Questions.

Advocacy Support
IMBA supports and assists more than 400 affiliated organizations on various issues. IMBA's full-time professional advocacy team is always available to help with timely expert advice when trails in your area are threatened for closure. IMBA staff can also answer questions about fundraising, legal issues (including liability), and non-profit financial regulations.
State Rep Network
We've built a nationwide leadership network of state representatives who can connect you with the land managers, government officials, mountain bike leaders, and decision-makers in your area. See our website for the state rep in your area.
Clif Bars for Trailwork Sessions
Clif Bar, another one of IMBA's top corporate members, will provide tasty Clif Bars without charge to fuel your club trailwork sessions. Here's the deal: contact IMBA at least three weeks in advance of your trail project, tell us how many volunteers you are expecting, and if possible, mention Clif Bar's donation in your trailwork flyer or in your club newsletter. We'll contact Clif Bar and they'll send you bars. Note: this offer is limited, so please request bars only for your largest trailwork events. Visit www.imba.com/resources/grants for an online order form.
Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew
Last year the Trail Care Crew led construction and maintenance sessions in more than 250 parks and forests in 45 states. Arranging a Trail Care Crew visit is one of the best ways to connect your club with IMBA and the latest trail maintenance techniques.
Trailbuilding Schools
As an IMBA affiliated club you are invited to attend one of the more than a dozen Trailbuilding Schools this year. These are two-day seminars where trail experts teach the latest techniques for building trails that are durable and fun to ride. They are perfect for club leaders and will frequently offer an additional day for land managers.
National Mountain Bike Patrol
Establishing a volunteer patrol in your area is often a great solution when user conflicts threaten mountain bike access. The NMBP promotes and supports local mountain bike patrollers and groups that inform, assist and educate mountain bikers and other trail users.
IMBA Web Site
The IMBA site is your source for all types of advocacy information, IMBA program details, scientific studies related to mountain biking, tips on working with land managers, trail work advice, and much more. Check it out at www.imba.com.
